SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION
Characteristic features of DRAGADOS TECH HOMES:
-Foundations:
Especially in the basement, insulation practices are carried out between the construction and the land, which are not common in Costa Rica. These are practices imported from Spain, by DRAGADOS TECH HOMES, through which four insulation barriers are placed between the ground and the walls of the construction, thus guaranteeing absolute impermeability in the basement. These separations are, first, of a layer of geotextile, which is a mesh for industrial use to prevent the passage of moisture in foundations. Then, a physical separation of 30cm between the ground and the cast concrete walls. This separation is generated with drainage stone and at the bottom are placed Drenaflex tubes, special to channel drainage water.
Finally, a special barrier brought from Spain is placed, of an insulating material made up of polymers and a carpet-type film that maintain both the temperature and the humidity contained. This material is like an egg carton so, colloquially it is called the "egg carton". And for last, a pitch, a special paint, is applied on the walls that overlook the basement. This type of insulation guarantees that there will be no leaks in winter times, which are very rainy in Costa Rica.
-Walls with cast concrete panels:
In Costa Rica, concrete constructions are commonly developed with individual blocks but for these special DRAGADOS residences concrete panels are built in the factory, thus guaranteeing the quality and uniformity of the structure, which is assembled and prepared in the factory, and subsequently installed on site.
In this way there is a very large control in quality of the "droppings", since the dosage of the concrete and the appropriate use of the steel reinforcements (that are installed by qualified personnel) are controlled in the factory. In addition, thicker panels are achieved, which differentiates them from block walls, and this guarantees better insulation from the environment. Being in an area where the heat is constant, this construction system guarantees greater energy efficiency in its subsequent use.
